I bought this movie because it's on the Arts and Faith list of the 100 Most Spiritually Significant Films. Lilies of the Field stars Sidney Poitier. You can watch the trailer here.
There are Star Trek connections: The music is by Jerry Goldsmith, Juan is played by Stanley Adams who played Cyrano Jones in "The Trouble With Tribbles".
