Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ is a 1925 silent film based on the Lew Wallace novel with the same name. This movie begins with the birth of Christ. It shows the wise men following a moving star, looking like a bright meteor or comet, before the star becomes fixed over Bethlehem.
It's at youtube in 18 sections. As of 2/17/2010, these have been removed, but the clip below shows the chariot race:
I'm really sorry this scene is gone: part 6 (shows slaves at the oars in a trireme), 'cause the ship is so cool.
The color in the scenes with Jesus is beautiful and a striking contrast to the other scenes.
