The Good, the Bad, the Weird

The Good, the Bad, the Weird is a 2008 self-described "Oriental Western" we gave The Younger Son for Christmas. A South Korean film directed by Kim Jee-woon, it premiered at Cannes and had only limited theatrical release here in the U.S. We got a big kick out of this, loving the Good/Bad/Ugly homage and enjoying the whole big extravagant experience.

The Washington Post calls it "cracking good fun, especially if your love of the genre is tempered by a healthy irreverence for its conventions." NPR says, "Sergio Leone learns to speak Korean in The Good, the Bad, the Weird, an exuberant tale of greed, vengeance and, well, weirdness." The Guardian calls it "extremely enjoyable".

Rotten Tomatoes has a critics score of 84%.
