Today is the anniversary of the death in 1965 of film producer
David O. Selznick. PBS considers him one of the
American Masters.
FilmReference.com says, "he should be remembered as one of the Hollywood's greatest independent filmmakers."
Although best known for
Gone With the Wind, he also produced
Rebecca,
The Third Man (
uncredited) and
A Star is Born (1937), all of which I like better than GWTW.
