The Universe in a Cup of Coffee

The Universe in a Cup of Coffee:

from the YouTube page:
The chemistry of the universe is, in a way, in your morning cup of coffee — from the evolution of caffeine as a defensive chemical weapon in plants to the swirling eddies of milk and coffee fueled by diffusion, Brownian motion and other phenomena. After watching the video, you’ll never look at coffee the same way again.

I only drink coffee in the mornings, and I drink it black and without any sweetening. I don't usually ponder weighty matters then, spending that time catching up on news stories, social media, and email newsletters. This morning I'll try to engage a different part of my brain.

  2. I enjoyed this video a lot. Much of this I knew, but not all of it. Like how citrus also have caffeine and how it helps the bees brains remember the plant for pollination. The same being true for the pollination of coffee flowers. Because of course plants would do anything that wouldn't help them. Chemistry is cool, and so biology (which is really just chemistry of living things. Have a great T day Nita.

  4. I had to stop drinking coffee. Boo hoo hoo. However, when I did it was black with nothing in it. Have a good day today.

  5. Well, that was quite interesting! I usually drink mine black, too. But for a treat I have it with cream and some non-sweetened additions of chocolate and caramel flavorings together! Delicious! :)

  7. This was a fabulous video, Nita. I loved watching it and I learned a bit, too. I am no longer drinking 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee, but black instead. I use the darkest roast available because it tastes so good. Thanks for sharing this with us for T this Tuesday.

Sorry I'm late visiting. I had to take Squiggles to the vet and we were there forever.
