Happy Birthday, Buffy Sainte-Marie

Some things never change. And on that depressing note, please join me at the T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering, where we'll share a drink and visit.

  1. It is a very depressing thought. You have another coffee & I'll have another tea. We are at war not just with guns, bombs, but war of words; freedom is under seize. Buffy has been in the news a lot lately with that latest investigative report on her origin claims.

  3. Canadians and Indigenous people are not thrilled with this woman. She lied about being indigenous, and milked the system for fame and fortune. A 2023 investigation by CBC News concluded that she was born in the United States and is of Italian and English descent. Isn't that crazy?

    1. It's troubling. There's a whole section about it in her Wikipedia entry. I'm not sure why some of the indigenous people support her in this.

  7. Hmmm, I haven't thought of her in years. A great song and video. It's amazing that youngsters are not taught what happened then, and that songs had real meaning.

  10. "Not the way to put an end to war." Buffy had it right. I agree this is depressing, but on a better note, you have a new grandchild to hold and cuddle.

Nice set-up of your pour coffee. That is a beautiful mug. Thanks for joining us for T this Tuesday, dear Nita.

  11. OMG! I had forgotten that song. Heard it during Vietnam War---and things haven't changed. It still can bring tears to my eyes. Happy birthday to Buffy Sainte-Marie. I wish things were different now than when she was singing it back then.
