Assimilate

Assimilate is a 2019 science fiction horror film. It'll remind you of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I watched it on Netflix, but it's not there now. It's available free on Roku, Tubi, or on Amazon Prime free with ads through Freevee.

trailer:

Heaven of Horror says it "works really well". Culture Crypt concludes by calling it "a fine contemporary remake of “Body Snatchers” that’s highly accessible for young adult audiences."

    1. Thank you. I would comment on your blog but am unable to get it to accept my attempts.

  3. I did see the original Body Snatchers but I think I'd pass. The few "horror" movies I've seen were mostly the old black and whites on TV when I was a kid. They were different back in the day, I think. Funnier (to me, anyways) and less gruesome, I guess. ;)

    1. Those old monster movies were shocking in their day. We need to find you some modern horror that's not gruesome :)

    2. I like the more psychological thrillers. ;)

    3. Yes, those are _much_ less likely to have so much gore. And they can be more subtle in their storytelling.

  4. Not all that promising, but it will give me a chance to visit and use my Roku.

    1. I've been surprised by how much is on Roku, including how many channels I can add that offer free movies. You can pick a genre in the search on Roku and take your pick. It's really amazing!

  6. Hmmm. I wonder if I thought I was commenting on this when I did another comment... I said I'd give this one a pass. And I would. But now I wonder where I wrote that! I'm still concussed.

    1. I had a fall that left me concussed, though I didn't have near the injuries you did. I got better gradually. But you were right about the comment :)
