I'd never heard this song before. How nice you can tie it to Memphis, too. Rather a gruesome song, though. Two shots and now he's haunted by her memory.
Never heard this one. Based on a true story? Well, I had to google that and they were teenagers--how sad. Seems people love to make songs about tragedies. Well, we do find them fascinating. ;)
If you like gorgeous photography and music I'd recommend Tom's blog: http://backroadstraveller.blogspot.com/ The music is either new to me or oldies that bring back fond memories :) That's where I heard Delia's Gone for the first time.
...a sad one!
ReplyDeleteThose old tragic tales

DeleteThere's a happy, little tune. 😺
ReplyDeletea real toe-tapper lol
DeleteAnother good song by the man who can't (or couldn't) do bad songs.
ReplyDeleteI came to him late, not being a country music fan.
DeleteSuch a great link to Memphis although I haven't heard this one before! Love a bit of Johnny Cash, such a great voice 😁. Happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteBased on a true story, or at least that's what I hear. Memphis has more mentions in song than any other city.
DeleteJohnny Cash was a great singer. Valerie
ReplyDeleteHe was indeed.
