Bonanza and Gunsmoke and Rifleman and Rawhide and The Guns of Will Sonnett.... My parents liked them, and I watched with them. My all-time favorites were Kung Fu and High Chaparral. I've been trying to see the movies as I come across them, and I like the genre. The 50s was the age I was growing up in (born in 1951). Some of the older westerns are just appalling nowadays to see how they portrayed the indians...but I certainly remember that growing up. This one had no indians, thank goodness.Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02043285884495492598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28337090.post-18074258568570493172018-02-14T07:56:06.709-08:002018-02-14T07:56:06.709-08:00It's shot on location in Texas, and that was n...It's shot on location in Texas, and that was nice. It's a traditional western of the time, and I liked it :) Westerns appeal to me.Divers and Sundryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01759655568104782267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28337090.post-48469207007651765792018-02-14T07:54:08.236-08:002018-02-14T07:54:08.236-08:00The actors are why I watched it lol. 1950 is a com...The actors are why I watched it lol. 1950 is a completely different universe from today's westerns, and this is a product of its time. For 1950 it had all the parts for a good western mystery, I guess. Not too mysterious, a little romance, misunderstood cowboy, bad guys, good guys, and a happy ending. Ignoring the inconsistencies and the over intense acting here and there, not too bad. ;)Ritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02043285884495492598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28337090.post-31849825296639969472018-02-13T07:12:06.598-08:002018-02-13T07:12:06.598-08:00This is definitely a standard western, but the plo...This is definitely a standard western, but the plot is a who-dun-it.
