Happy Birthday, Peter Yarrow!

Today is Peter Yarrow's 80th birthday, and I wish him many more healthy and enjoyable years. I was a fan of Peter, Paul and Mary and remember listening to their songs on the radio when I was a child.

Puff, the Magic Dragon (1963):

Blowin' in the Wind (1963):

Day is Done (1969):

He's always been a political activist, and here he is in 2011 at Occupy Wall Street:

He has a website here.

  1. I LOVE Peter, Paul, and Mary. I was SO naive, I had no idea what Puff the Magic Dragon was all about until someone explained it to me a few years ago. This is a great tribute. I wish him the best.

Please, please feel better soon. I miss you!!!!

    1. I believe Puff is a sweet song, a reminder of childhood, and I don't accept other interpretations ;)

  2. I always really liked Peter, Paul and Mary. I never knew anything about Puff The Magic Dragon being anything else. Wasn't there a dragon show on TV around that time? So I didn't think anything of it--LOL! :)

    1. I still think Puff is a lament for lost childhood, but people interpret songs in many ways. I don't remember a dragon on tv back then; I'll have to google it :)
