Adventures of Don Quixote

Adventures of Don Quixote:

is a 1933 film adaptation, the first sound film version, of the book by Miguel de Cervantes. Cervantes died on this date in 1616. This adaptation makes many changes, and you are well-advised to read the book here first or here if you haven't already. Or have it read to you compliments of Librivox:

  1. Unbelievable. I am bookmarking this because there's no way I can spend that much time today with these, but I thoroughly intend to listen to these audio books Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks for the links.

    1. I preferred reading it to listening, but I have trouble attending to audiobooks. It's a long book! But a wonderful story :)

  2. I might come back and try to listen to this. I have the same problem you do with concentration while listening to audio books--but my eyes can't take long reading sessions, either, so I need to try audio books more. Right now I am listening to Comey's book--read by him. Maybe when I get done with that one. :)

    1. I don't usually recommend condensed books, but Don Quixote might be an exception ;)

Is Comey's book good? He's never authored a book, and I've wondered if it's well written.

  3. I have never read Don Quixote but we have seen a musical, one that surprised me in that Mr Man really liked it & got rather emotional during it. Umm maybe time to either read the book or see the movie. Thanks for bringing this forward.

    1. I bet y'all saw Man of La Mancha :) It was a musical play then adapted for film. Many community theaters have done it. I agree with your hubby, so touching and not a bad re-telling of the story.
