I Can't Stand the Rain

I Can't Stand the Rain:

by Ann Peebles.

This year Memphis broke the record for the most rain during the month of February a record set in  1948. As I write this at 11:30 on Wednesday night, they're saying it may top 12 inches by midnight. [update: we ended up with 13.43" for the month.] I don't mind rain really and even enjoy rain occasionally, but enough is enough!

  1. I can understand you!
And here we have snow and ice and it's much too chilly!
    Longing for spring!
What a song and what a voice! Reminds me of the time I was a teenager - disco music for us at those times!

  2. I keep seeing your rain in Memphis. I ran into rain on my trip, but it didn't follow me back to Wichita. I would GLADLY take some of yours, dear.

    1. The weather was drier at the end of the week, but it won't last. The ground is saturated!

  4. We are getting some of that rain tomorrow. We are just a bit north to get that much though. Holy cow-that's a lot of rain. Hope you are high and dry! hugs-Erika

    1. Our place isn't likely to flood, but the ground can't absorb any more and all the rain runs off. Low spots are lakes now lol

  5. I do love that song, though! Never heard of the singer but I like her. Hope the rain lets up there.

    1. I've always loved that song :) Her voice is wonderful, isn't it! She's 70 now, but no longer performs. She had a stroke a few years back :(

    1. Isn't it wonderful! I listen to it every time it rains. Makes the rain less oppressive and dreary :)
