It Snowed!

We had been on vacation and not scheduled to come home 'til yesterday, but we kept hearing the prediction of ice and snow and came home the afternoon before just to play it safe. We didn't expect snow, to be honest, since it seems to us that we never get snow when it's predicted -but we woke up to this!

  1. Your garden/patio is just like another room of the house, it's so cosy, yes even with the snow (col).

    1. Yes, snow isn't common here, and ice is more usual in these past years, so this is delightful!

  3. Forgot to mention, I put my chiminea inside the garage each winter so it doesn't freeze and break. Hope it was warm enough there it didn't. It's been BITTERLY cold here!

    1. I _always_ cover it with a tarp, _always_! And yet this year I haven't :( I am worried about it :(

  4. Wow! Snow. That is very exciting for you. Your patio always looks so pretty, even in snow. All my yard things are packed up and put away for another season, so I love seeing some still out-even in the snow! Enjoy your white. Hugs-Erika

    1. Thx! Yes, it is exciting! And though it's not adding to what's on the ground, we're getting a bit more of these pretty flakes falling this morning (Saturday) :) The plants still in pots will over-winter there and hopefully be fine in the spring. We'll hope for the best :) The chiminea is only uncovered due to my foolish neglect :(

    1. Thx! I took off the red bows but left the wreaths up for the birds. Sometimes they use them as perches -landing platforms so to speak- before they move to a feeder.

  7. I shoveled about 10 inches of it out of my driveway yesterday in northeast Ohio, snow is much more appealing 1or 2 at a time.

    1. Wow! We got an inch or so. It's already started melting some where the sun hits it, but the patio is protected and still snowy. We average 3 inches over the course of a year. It's been decades since we got as much as 10 inches.

  8. That's the best kind of snow--gently falling down. Looks just gorgeous! We've got it coming down almost horizontally this afternoon with wind gusts up to 40mph. Glad you came home early and beat the snow! :)

    1. Yes, it was such a pretty snow. Driving snow isn't fun at all. We just don't ever get much snow here. It feels like magic! :)
