Pearl's Oyster House

Pearl's Oyster House is a delightful place located on South Main here in Memphis. They have their own parking lot behind their building, which is unusual in downtown Memphis. This is the view from my table:

I like their fried catfish:

I always walk around when I go downtown, and this time I saw a mural I had never noticed before:

This most recent trip was with The Daughter, and she offered me dessert at her house:

Homemade cookies! Yummmmm!

Please join the T Stands for Tuesday gathering over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog, where you can share a drink with us.

Now that fried catfish looks yummy. I have actually never had fried catfish because all the fish up here is cod, haddock or one of those white ocean fish, but it makes sense to eat local and fresh. And did I notice a hush puppy on that plate? I discovered them a few years ago when we visited my friend who lives in Raleigh, NC, and you can't get those here either. YUM!!!!! I am jealous of that. Happy T day.

    1. I love hushpuppies! They're supposed to be easy to make, but I've never tried. The ones at this restaurant are good :)

  3. Haven't had catfish in a long time so your meal is especially tempting. Nice to have such good eateries in town. And nothing like home baked cookies to top off a good meal. Happy T day!

    1. There are some murals downtown that are permanent on buildings and others that hide empty storefronts and construction sites. I'm glad you enjoyed your time here :) I love walkin' in Memphis ;)

  8. Living in the midwest, I've been exposed to catfish (not necessarily my favorite fish) and hush puppies. I've even made hush puppies, so if you are ever in KS, I'll make some for you.

Looks like you had a fun day out with your daughter at Pearl's Oyster House, and at her home for coffee and cookies afterward. Now I'm so hungry, I could eat that catfish right now. Thanks for sharing your day out, the incredible mural, your daughter's cookies (they even LOOK homemade), and your drinks and coffee with us for T this Tuesday.

  10. I always like when a restaurant or store has ample parking. I can't parallel park to save my soul. I've never had catfish, but it looks delicious. It's always fun to find hidden works of art in the city like the mural. Sounds like you had a great day out and the perfect way to end the day a visit with your daughter and homemade cookies. Happy T Day.

Hannah is starting to feel better as the day goes by, but her cough makes my chest hurt. Poor baby.
