Samson (1961)

Samson is a 1961 sword and sandal film in which the titular character is in no way connected to the Biblical figure by the same name. This is a fun adventure romp, easy to watch. The Imdb has this plot synopsis:
While traveling through the kingdom of Sulom, Samson is arrested and finds that the queen no longer reigns and that a power-mad warlord and his army of mercenaries now controls the kingdom. Samson teams up with some of his one-time adversaries to battle the usurper and restore the rightful queen to power.

10KBullets has a fairly detailed plot description and a few screen shots.

  2. You find the most interesting things. And I wanted to reply to your comment about lupines and the book your children had. I am thinking it is Miss Rumphius. I always think of that book when I see lupines. I didn't know about it until one of my friends mentioned it to me when we had gone on a little trip to Maine many years ago. :) Happy weekend. 3. I enjoyed reading the plot description and seeing the film in action, so interesting that these preceeded the spaghetti western films too 😀. Happy Saturday and enjoy your weekend! J 😊

    1. There are a lot of fun sword and sandal films. I used to enjoy those Hercules movies that came out in the 50s and 60s.
