Buckley's

photo from YellowPages.com

We went to Buckley's Grill for an anniversary dinner late last year. We had never been and had heard so much good about it. It was indeed good. Very expensive, that's true enough, but for a one-time special occasion we weren't unwilling to pay these prices. You can look at the menu here.

I had stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer:

and then a salad:

The steak was perfect:

We couldn't resist dessert:

The service was pleasant and helpful. It was dark inside and crowded, so I couldn't get photos of the tables and decor and can't find any online. It was a comfortable, child-friendly environment. People were dressed in a range from quite casual to dressy. The tables had cloth table covers, cloth napkins, and a candle. When we go back, we'll get the burger. I'll bet the food is just as good, and it'll be much less expensive that way.

Yelp has a 4- out of 5-star rating with 111 reviews. Trip Advisor has a 4.5- out of 5-star rating with 155 reviews.

Please join us at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's weekly "T is for Tuesday" blog gathering, where we share our drinks (see my water in the photos?) and visit with each other.

  1. I agree those prices are a bit high, but I have to remember prices in KS seem to be a bit lower than in most places. I would LOVE to have the loaded mashed potato and the crazy Cajun shrimp. They sound wonderful.

So glad you enjoyed your meal and those desserts looked wonderful. I bet just seeing photos bring back fond memories of how great the food tasted. Looks like you were sensible and had water, too. Thanks for sharing this anniversary trip to Buckley's with us for T this Tuesday.

  2. What a lovely meal and it all looks delicious! Prices are comparative to here, but I've seen higher. If the food is good and the service is good, then I have no problem with the prices. I would go to Buckley's.......for special occasions too.
    Thanks for sharing
    Happy T-day

  5. Oh my, Buckley's Grill looks like a fabulous place to eat! There are so many things I'd like to try on the menu, I think I would need to visit often despite the prices ... Lol! We love food with a Southern twist and this restaurant looks just perfect. There's the Lobster Bisque and Ravioli Soup for starter then the Delta Shrimp and Grits and Firecracker Salmon, I'd love to try all six of the Buckley's Favourites and don't get me started on the burgers and lunch box menu ... :-) . There are no restaurants like that here in the UK so I suppose I'm going to have to get my Southern cookbooks out now ... Lol! It looks like you had a wonderful anniversary celebration, thanks so much for sharing! Happy T Tuesday! J :-)

  18. A belated happy anniversary! That restaurant certainly looks very nice. I looked at the menu and I wouldn't know what to choose, it all looks very yummy. But as you say, expensive. As pensioners we certainly would never be able to afford that. But it looks delicious.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca

  19. You can't tell a book by its cover. I never would have guessed from the outside that Buckley's Grill would have such fine food OR such high pices - lol. Definitely a special occasion-type of restaurant. That makes it extra-special when you splurge, right? I hope the anniversary couple enjoyed it.

    Happy T-day, D! Hugs, Eileen
