Still Life with Coffeepot

Still Life with Coffeepot:

by Camille Pissarro, who died on November 13, 1903, in Paris at the age of 73.

I have a number of coffee pots, none of which look anything like the one in this painting. I have 2 drip coffee makers (different sizes), 2 French presses (different sizes), a 6-cup Chemex pourover and a 1-cup pour-over. Spoiled for choice, aren't we! I do have an insulated thermal carafe, though, and a carafe is what this picture looks like to me rather than a coffee pot. I'm just probably misusing the word "pot" here.

Please join the bloggers who gather for a weekly "T" to share a drink of one form or another. Bleubeard and Elizabeth are our hosts, and you'll find a warm welcome there.

  1. I am a big fan of Pissaro, one of the most unsung heros of the Impressionist era. This is fantastic.

You really ARE spoiled on your coffee choices. I have one coffee maker, and wouldn't change it for the world. Thanks for sharing this art ANY your coffee maker choices with us for T this Tuesday.

  10. Thanks for finding that painting for us. I'm familiar with the artist but not that particular piece of art. It seems you are set for making any style coffee you like and in any amount. Fun to have choices.

  12. That looks like breakfast in bed the way the sheet or tablecloth is ruffled up. It's really quite lovely.

    1. Pissarro. I use my drip coffee maker almost all the time. The rest get lonely in the cabinet. I do use the single-cup pour over some, though. You'll really enjoy one :)

  14. LOL! I have a drip coffee maker that can make a 12 cup pot or just one cup at a time. Mornings is for the 12 cups (LOL) and occasionally I make just 1 cup in the afternoons. We also have a coffee maker in our trailer, and I keep a very old one in storage for when the newer models give out....LOL We are a bit spoiled here too.
Love the painting, I remember studying him in my art history classes........many years ago!
    Happy T-day

  17. You sound like you just might know your way around a good cup of coffee :) I have just two... my everyday drip and then an antique one that perks coffee very slowly but taste oh so good ♥ The antique one has it's own little oil/kerosene burner for brewing and warming. It comes in great when the power goes out. :) Happy T day... Love the art you shared today too ♥♥♥
