The Pie Folks

The Daughter and I were looking for dessert one day, and her google search yielded The Pie Folks as having the best pie in the area. We decided to check it out to see. It's located in Germantown, a Memphis suburb, and wasn't a long drive. It was easy to find and easy to get to.

The Daughter had a chocolate/peanut butter pie, and I had the award-winning strawberry:

We both had coffee. This pie was wonderful! It doesn't surprise me to hear that they've won awards. We'll definitely go back. I want to try the coconut. They have a limited lunch menu available only during lunch time (11-2, maybe?). They also sell cupcakes.

Here's a shot of the inside:

We sat at a table next to a window. The staff was cheerful and friendly, as were other customers who came and went while we were there.

The I Love Memphis blog has a positive review. Yelp gives it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. Urban Spoon has a score of 83%. Trip Advisor gives it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

  1. As much as I enjoy cakes and tarts pie is a special treat in my book.
I used to make a very nice Lemon Meringue pie but that was years ago.

  5. This is a truth universally acknowledged: no nation makes pies like the Americans. Your photo of your pies makes my mouth water! Chocolate-peanutbutter, OMG... :-O (There is precious little peanut butter in Sweden, but I can get it, and even Reese´s cups, in some stores.)

  8. I'll have your daughter's pie. You can keep the strawberry, no matter how many awards it gets. The only way I like strawberries are when they still have their little green hats on. However, your daughter's choice sounds absolutely PERFECT.

Thanks for sharing this PIE FOLKS experience with us for T this Tuesday. If I have a weakness, it it pie. Much rather have it than cake any day.

Sorry I'm late getting here. My internet quit working early this morning and didn't return until a few minutes ago.
