Christmas Movies

I love a good movie. I even love some bad movies. We spend many a happy hour here with a hot cup of tea or coffee in front of a DVD, and there are more Christmas movies than you might think. I have a list which includes more than 80 dating as early as 1898, many of which are available to watch online. Please check out my list and let me know if I missed any. Also, if you come across a video that doesn't work or a dead link, I'd appreciate a heads up either here or in a comment to the relevant film's post so I can fix it. Thanks!

The link to the list is here. I add to it as I watch more, and I'm always surprised that there are always more!

There are a couple of perennial favorites I can't stand: 1) Holiday Inn; 2) It's a Wonderful Life. I know everybody loves them, but I never have. There are plenty of others, though, so I don't feel deprived.

The cup at the top of the post is one of our Christmas cups. I'm not sure why we have fewer specifically Christmas cups and mugs than we have for other times of the year, but that is the case. We have a lot more for Autumn and Winter. This one was Mother's, and it's a treat to get it out.

Bleubeard and Elizabeth have a weekly gathering of T(ea) related links, and I'll be visiting over there a while. Join me?

  1. It's a good thing I stopped by, because I noticed you haven't linked up. The Christmas mug sort of gave it away, though (grin).

I never watch much TV, but being sick and staying in bed has made less craft time and more TV watching. So, for the first time ever, I watched "It's a Wonderful Life" while I was sick. They showed it several times I think on national TV. It got old pretty fast, and was quite predictable, but I can see why everyone thinks it's the "feel good" movie of Christmas.

Thanks for bringing all these movies to our attention, and I look forward to seeing some of them on the internet once I feel a bit better.

And thanks for joining T this Tuesday, but please link up when you think about it. Happy New Year, too.

  2. That's a pretty comprehensive list of Christmas movies. I can't think of any you can add. "It's a Wonderful Life" is my husband's favorite and we watch it every year. Hope you have a wonderful 2015.

  3. Hello and Happy T Day! What a pretty Tea cup, love holiday ones. I haven't watched too many old movies but hope to one day. I keep watching my same favorites over and over. Happy New Year!

  4. Beautiful holly mug! Love old movies too, but my hubby is usually not a fan. Got to take our grandchildren to see a movie this holiday--the cartoon Penguins of Madagascar. It was really cute! do you like feature cartoons? Happy New Year dearie!

    1. I haven't seen Penguins of Madagascar, but I do enjoy some of the feature-length animated films. They can be a lot of fun :)

  5. Wow, that's a good movie list. My husband and I often stay in and watch movies for "date night," so we'll have to check out some of these sometime.

Did you watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, in honor of the film's 50th anniversary? I don't love the plot of that film, but I think the puppets are adorable, so I've enjoyed all the Rudolph merchandise that's been available this holiday season.

Have a very Happy New Year! May it be filled with tea, movies, and adventures.

  7. Pretty mug! If I watch nothing else, I watch It's A Wonderful Life ( my all time favorite movie) and A Christmas Story every year. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. ;)
Happy T-Day late and Happy New Year! :)

  8. Your Christmas mug is pretty and nice to have one that was your Mom's. I don't watch many movies and rarely watch anything more than a clip on my laptop. The screen seems to small or something. Over the years I have managed to see a few of the movies on your list though.
