Holding Onto Summer

Earlier in the summertime, when we could begin to count on high temps in the 80sF, The Daughter and I had some English Breakfast tea on the patio. She had brought some fun cookies: Marinela Polvorones Shortbread Orange Cookies and Marinela Canelitas Cinnamon Cookies. I like them both, but I like the orange ones better.

It's sweet to have such good memories, a summertime made up of warm days and warm companionship -time spent with family and friends- to tide me over the frigid wasteland that is winter. Well, that may be a bit dramatic, ya think? but I'll so miss the summer once it's gone. I'll be making happy memories through all the seasons, but ah! the time spent on the patio is special!

Please join the T(ea) Party over at Bluebeard and Elizabeth's blog, where I'm sharing this tea-related post.

  2. The pretty pink cup and saucer certainly do evoke summer. You will have to pull it out and use it in the middle of winter just to remind yourself of the warmer weather.

Thank you for your comment on my post. I hope you too will soon start something seasonal. I'll enjoy the company-:) I am planning to continue in the winter too in a new handmade journal.
    Have a great week

    1. I think this is a pretty shade of pink. I don't think they make fiestaware this color any more, but I like it :) Happy T Tuesday!

  4. Yes, love that color of fiesta ware! and cookies sound wonderful...indeed, I am not looking forward to winter, and since we are having rain today where I am, it's a taste of things to come. but at least it's not white stuff! You are right, memories with our loved ones do keep us warm...happy Tea day!

    1. We don't get much snow around here, though we used to get more when I was little. I don't mind the cold as much when there's snow.

  6. Had to laugh at the comment about temps in the 80s. Today is expected to hit 89F here. Summer will eventually end and winter will take over, right? Then you'll bring that lovely cup inside and enjoy your tea in the warmth of your home.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful fiestaware cup and thoughts of summer for T with us this Tuesday.

  7. Ahhh, I recognized the Fiestaware immediately. So sad, I didn't start collecting it years ago. I'm still stuck with my grandmother's milkglass and Corelleware!

  13. You, who seem to be a collector of handsome teacups, and also has an appreciation for art, could perhaps enjoy Liz Steel´s paintings of teacups - she is a tea connoiseur and a manic teacup watercolour sketcher. If you haven´t discovered them already, that is.

    1. I've run out of room to store any more cups, but I do enjoy having a variety. Thanks for that link. Her work is beautiful! I enjoyed looking through the posts from her recent Brazil trip. I like her mix of photos, journal and painting/drawing. Gives a good idea of what the trip was like even for me, and I've never been there.
