I Love to Laugh

This is the scene from the Mary Poppins movie where they have tea on the ceiling, although this video just has the song. Here's a picture of the actual tea party (from the Bigelow Tea Blog):

Now, doesn't that sound like great fun! I'm settling for tea on the patio, but if I ever figure out anti-gravity it'll certainly expand my options.

This reminds me of that Dr. Seuss quote, "It is fun to have fun, but you have to know how," from The Cat in the Hat. It is so true! Since I don't know how to float my tea table up to the ceiling, I'll have to make my fun where I can. This time of year, the patio is filled with potted plants, and I'm having fun trying to figure out what to plant in the beds now that I've dug up and discarded the plantings that had been there.

Elizabeth had a disappointing experience at a Chinese restaurant. There are always folks sharing a variety of experiences over there on Tuesdays, and I enjoy the visit.

  1. While the tea party looks like fun, I'm one of those who like my feet firmly planted on the ground. Hope you get those plants in the ground. Our garden is limited this year as out water usage is limited. Have to have home grown tomatoes though if nothing else.

    1. my potted plants are the only things that get watering. i try to plant things that can do ok on rain water alone & that's not usually a problem here. i grew tomatoes in a pot one year. i'll have to do that again. they are so much better!

  8. I love your concept of expanding your possibilities in the event you figure out anti-gravity. Maybe Dr. Who will come to tea and help you with that (grin). This was a FUN read, and I laughed throughout.

I took a photo yesterday of my thyme that has overwintered for three years in a pot. I hope your garden grows with splendor this year. I also only water my pots. I've NEVER watered my "flower bed." My thinking is, if it doesn't make it there, it doesn't belong there! Of course, I suspect you get a LOT more rain than we do. I remember last year when much of your city was under water. We, on the other hand, are in a drought zone.

Thanks for sharing this fun post for T today.

    1. yes, sometimes we could use more rain around here, but it's never like the drought conditions i read about elsewhere.

  13. Hello and Happy T Day a day late!! I have never seen this movie so seeing it here was new and FUN for me. I'm afraid of heights so T on the ground is the only way I will have it. If not for that then I would love to have tea in the air!
Thanks for sharing and the smile this morning.
