Harlequin and Tea

Lately, I've been looking in antique shops specifically for appealing cups and saucers, especially blue ones, without much luck. This one's a treat, though. It's Homer Laughlin Harlequin pattern in turquoise. I'd love to have one in yellow.

It came from the antique mall in Bartlett:

Not much to look at from the outside but plenty of treasures once you get inside.

The tea came from the local Chinese grocery and is quite nice. I think this'll do for a while. The box describes it as "a premium grade Oolong. This oolong is typically close to a green tea, with only a little fermentation that combines qualities of black and green teas."

  1. I do miss antiquing when I was in Colorado. Everything is too expensive in London.

    1. ah, but being in london would be worth it. i went once years ago on one of those whirlwind europe tours and loved it. i think living there would be such fun!

  2. Blue is my color for my kitchen. Actually it's cobalt blue with copper accents. But I think this very retro cup and saucer are simply gorgeous. Love it and would gladly drink from it if you offered me some oolong tea. And I love oolong, too. Just haven't found any I'm really in love with yet.

    1. the shape of this cup is what first attracted me. it does have that retro feel.

i like this tea, but i'm still looking for the world's best green tea. it's time consuming, because i hate to buy new teas while i still have tea here. i'd love to offer you some :) this is my favorite so far.
