Hang 'Em High

Hang 'Em High is a 1968 Clint Eastwood Western. I do dearly love Clint Eastwood Westerns, and this is a fine example. Also in this film are Inger Stevens, Ed Begley, Pat Hingle, Alan Hale Jr. (Gilligan's Island, It Happened on Fifth Avenue), Dennis Hopper, Mark Lenard (who has a Star Trek connection), Ben Johnson, Bruce Dern (Silent Running), James MacArthur (Hawaii 5-0) and Ruth White (The Nun's Story). I always enjoy this movie.

Roger Ebert gives it 3 stars and a rambling review. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a score of 92%.

  1. Every time I see Eastwood I fall asleep - can´t explain why. He is so loved over here that he is called "Clintan" which can be translated to "the Clint". The only other person who is equally honored that comes to mind right now is Bruce Springsteen, lovingly called "Brucan" by his Swedish fans.

  2. some think eastwood a bit slow. maybe that's it. i like eastwood's westerns but not much else he did. of course, in light of his appearance at the republican national convention during which he spoke at length to a chair, i may need to re-evaluate his comedic talents. ;)
