Davy Crockett


Today is the anniversary of the death in the Battle of the Alamo in 1836 of Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier. His autobiography A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett, of the State of Tennessee can be read online. There's a biography online here. The David Crockett State Park is outside of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

Davy Crockett makes an appearance in "We Didn't Start the Fire". The video below, which is different from the one linked, has the strangest shot to accompany the Davy Crockett reference that I've seen in any of the innumerable offerings available:



Of course, I think it's strange because I connect the name to the historical figure and not the missile.

Davy Crockett has a Star Trek connection.
